ABC6 METEOROLOGIST CHELSEA PRIEST SPEAKS AT OLM
What better way is there to learn about the weather than from a real news meteorologist? On Thursday, October 24th, students in Mrs. Turchetta’s fourth grade science class at Our Lady of Mercy School did just that. ABC6 meteorologist Chelsea Priest came in to discuss her career in meteorology and how she forecasts the weather. The students were extremely engaged and had many questions for her based on their unit study of weather.
According to fourth grader Catie Sullivan (Warwick), “It was so cool to have a real meteorologist here! I can’t believe robots operate the cameras in the studio and Chelsea has to get up so early to broadcast the weather!” Overall, the special appearance was a success and allowed students to see how their science curriculum is used in day-to-day life.
