OLM Parish and School Community to Celebrate Feast Week September 23-27
To honor the Feast of its Patron, Our Lady of Mercy, on Sept. 24, the OLM parish and school community will be holding a variety of events and celebrations, beginning on Monday, September 23, with the OLM Saints and Scholars Open.
The annual golf tournament will take place at Quidnessett Country Club, beginning with lunch and registration at 11:30, a shotgun at 1:00, and dinner to follow. Space for foursomes and sponsors remains available on the OLM Parish website.
As Tuesday, September 24, marks the official patronal Feast of Our Lady of Mercy, the parish community will gather for a solemn Mass at 9:00 a.m. at OLM Church. OLM School alum Father Brian Morris, the school Chaplain at Bishop Hendricken High School, will be the guest homilist, concelebrating with OLM Pastor Father Bernard Healey and the OLM School Choir singing.
On Wednesday, September 25, a Rosary and Holy Hour with Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, and Benediction will take place at 7:00 p.m. with meditative music with OLM Music Director Henri St. Louis and the OLM Choir in the church. The community will gather to perform Acts of Mercy on Thursday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m., filling backpacks with supplies for the needy. Weather permitting, this will take place on the Stephen P. Lynch Sr. Field behind OLM School
The grand finale for OLM Feast Week takes place on Friday, September 27 at the parish’s annual Oktoberfest. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., guests will enjoy German Food, Beer, & Music and admission is free. Also at the festival the See You in September Raffle Drawing will take place, with a grand prize of $10,000. Raffle tickets are available by calling the parish office at (401) 884-4968.
