OLM D1 Junior Boys Win CAL State Basketball Title;
D2 Boys and D1 Girls Finish as State Runners-Up
The Catholic Athletic League (CAL) Basketball Season is long, beginning in October and running through the end of February. Five out of OLM’s seven eligible teams earned the opportunity to extend their seasons by advancing to the CAL Playoffs. After the first weekend of playoffs, three OLM teams came out victorious and advanced to the CAL State Championship Games held at LaSalle Academy this past Saturday.
The D1 Junior Boys Team Captured the CAL State Title with a 47-24 victory over St. Cecelia. The win earns the Jaguars a spot in the New England CYO Tournament next weekend.
The OLM Boys Junior D2 squad finished as CAL State Runners-Up with a tight 24-20 loss to St. Augustine. The Girls Junior D also finished a State Runners-Up with a 32-26 loss to Mercymount.
